Heavy traffic on The Ave this week, folks! Since Nick’s appearance on ABC’s Shark Tank last week, the phones have been ringing off the hook. The inbox has been flooded. The orders are keeping the printer hot.
Thank you all for your wishes and support (and the criticism, too)! We look forward to getting you all into some new custom gear! If we haven’t gotten back to you yet, hold tight, and we will. We’ve added more employees, extended our hours, and added more equipment. The long view plan is well underway!
Wednesday morning, we got a visit from Allie Mac Kay, from KTLA. Allie came in and gave AngeleƱos a run down on what we do here at The Ave, and we made some custom gear to take back to the other KTLA personalities.
Allie found out about us before we even knew when our Shark Tank episode was going to air. She saw someone walking around LA wearing a pair of our shoes, and she ran over to them and asked them where they got the shoes. She wrote down The Ave on a napkin, and two weeks later, she found the napkin in her purse, Googled us, and made the segments happen.
Check out all four segments Allie did with us on KTLA’s website:
Later the same day, we got another special visitor. Steve Van Doren, the founder of Vans dropped by and got a pair of shoes!
Steve’s son-in-law saw us on Shark Tank, called Steve, and told him to watch. Steve watched our segment, and said “we have to go see this guy.”
We really hope this is the start of a great relationship. We love Vans, and we look forward to selling a lot more custom Vans in the future!
